QUESTION

How to import graphic images into ToolBook when the ToolBook file is distributed as a Native application?


ANSWER

In ToolBook 10.0 and higher, using OpenScript it is possible to import images into ToolBook as Resources, even while the ToolBook file is being shown in the ToolBook Runtime engine.


As an example, here is a line of OpenScript which can import an image as a Resource:


   import bitmap resource "c:\desktop\flowers.jpg" as "carnation"


Once you have the resource imported, you can show it in an Image object, or perhaps show it on the face of a Button object by setting the normalGraphic property to the appropriate bitmap resource, such as:


   normalGraphic of button "flower" = bitmap "carnation"
