The ToolBook Startup dialog has a completely new look aimed at making it easier to start a new project, or open an existing one.
Primarily intended for users new to ToolBook, a new Question Wizard object can be found in the Questions category of the catalog. This wizard will step you through the setup of a Multiple Choice, True/False, Fill In The Blank or Match Item question object.
ToolBook has always had a handful of SmartStyles, but this release of ToolBook adds 39 additional SmartStyles to the Styles category of the catalog. Notably, 16 of these are specifically designed for mobile delivery.
A new catalog category named Arrows (Clipart) has been added to ToolBook which gives you access to 192 Arrows in a variety of colors and directions.
On the Behavior tab of the Properties for Lesson dialog, ToolBook allows you to configure the randomization settings for your lesson. Two new features have been added. A Validate option has been added to check your current randomization settings to ensure they are configured correctly. A Configure option has been added to let you exclude certain pages from the randomization pool.
ToolBook's Web Export support has been enhanced to now offer support for BlackBerry 6.0 and higher mobile devices.

CTRL-SHIFT-V has been implemented as a keyboard shortcut (and within the right-click menu) for pasting raw unformatted text, into a ToolBook field. This is useful when pasting text into a text field within a Smart Page, where you want the current SmartStyle to control the look of the text.
Draw objects are circles, lines, rectangles and polygons that you can draw in ToolBook utilizing the icons on the Tool Palette (or found in the Draw Objects category of the catalog). These are now drawn with antialiasing - a process of blending the edge of the object with the colors behind it. This results in much smoother looking draw objects. This improvement also changes how Transparency works with draw objects. They now are drawn using an industry standard transparency effect. Additionally, historically a transparent white filled draw object would appear completely transparent, but will now appear with a partially transparent white fill. In order to achieve a completely see-through draw object, set the fill Pattern to none which causes the fill area not to be drawn.
With the release of ToolBook 11, Neuron has officially been retired and is no longer available as an option within ToolBook. The ToolBook Runtime Installer, which historically has been one and the same as the Neuron installer, has been modified as follows. Instead of being named NEURON110.EXE, it is now named RUNTIME110.EXE. This installer will install the ToolBook runtime engine minus the Neuron browser plug-in components.
The catalog editor can now be opened by selecting Customize Catalog from the View menu in addition to the existing method of right-clicking on a Catalog category.
This new feature, available from the Tools menu, will allow you to move a block of pages to a different location within your book - a process which will take just a few seconds to complete.
