ANSWER

TOOLBOOK 11.5

ToolBook Software

Windows 8 on a laptop or desktop computer

Windows 8 on a Tablet

Windows 8 RT on a Tablet

DHTML Content Produced with ToolBook

Windows 8 on a laptop or desktop computer

Windows 8 on a Tablet

Windows 8 RT on a Tablet

TOOLBOOK 11.0 AND EARLIER

Windows 8 was released after the release of ToolBook 11. As such SumTotal does not officially claim support for Windows 8, for ToolBook 11 and earlier releases of ToolBook.

However, limited testing of ToolBook 11 was done using Windows 8, and only one minor issue was encountered.

NOTES

WINDOWS 8 BUG - Windows 8 (both 32 bit and 64 bit versions) shipped with a bug preventing the ToolBook Authoring (and Runtime) environment from starting at all (it would lockup/freeze before fully opening - typically reporting that ToolBook had stopped responding). Microsoft fixed this for both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Windows 8, in the "Windows 8 Client and Windows Server 2012 General Availability Cumulative Update" that they rolled out on October 11, 2012. You will need to ensure you have the latest Windows 8 updates installed - especially that "Windows 8 Client and Windows Server 2012 General Availability Cumulative Update".

If installed, you should be able to find this entry listed in the "installed updates" section of the Programs and Features control panel.
