Set focus to a field or button in DHTML

MINI LESSONS ›› Actions Editor ››

The Execute Method action allows you to execute methods for a given object.

In the case of setting focus, you'd want to execute the Set Focus method. Equally you can remove focus by executing Remove Focus.

Realize that focus can only be set to an object which can receive focus, such as:

Setting focus to a button will cause a focus rectangle to appear around the edge of the button, and setting focus to a field will cause the blinking I-Beam to start flashing in the field, ready for user input.
