What Media formats are supported by the Universal Media Player?

The Universal Media Player is a catalog object that supports a wide variety of digital video, audio, and streaming media file formats. Simply choose the desired media file, and the Universal Media Player automatically presents the appropriate player to users at Reader level.

For example, if a Microsoft Streaming Media file is selected, ToolBook uses the Windows Media Player ActiveX control to play the file.

The following media types are supported by the Universal Media Player:

To play a media file already located on a Web server, enter a URL in the Media Source field of the Properties for Universal Media Player dialog box. If a URL is entered, the validity of the URL will not be checked.
